Here’s how to enjoy a rejuvenating cup of Turmeric Tea for Two!
- Bring four cups of water almost to the boil.
- Add one teaspoon of ground turmeric and reduce to a simmer for 10 minutes.
- Strain the tea through a fine sieve into your favourite cup, add honey and/or lemon to taste.
- Find a comfortable spot to sit and enjoy everything wonderful about the simple practice of a cup of tea.
Directions:
I like to add a 3 or 4 thin slices of fresh ginger and a squeeze of lemon along with the turmeric.
You could also try adding almond or coconut milk, cinnamon or a touch of honey. While ground versions are convenient, experiment with freshly grated turmeric for a more vibrant flavor. Fresh Turmeric is a distinctive, deep-orange roots are becoming increasingly available in whole food and natural food stores. I’ve bought it from the Farmers Markets, Peachs & Manna Whole foods in South Fremantle. Enjoy!
Other ways to enjoy Turmeric;
- Add dried or fresh turmeric into soups, curries or anything with an asian type of flavour.
- Grate fresh turneric into a salad dressing.
- Use it as a supplement.
